The film ‘Aan- Men At Work’ is a realistic movie on the Indian Police Force. Through this film director Madhur Bhandakar portrays the life of the policemen, the hardships they face, and the compromise they make and more over the liaison between police top officials and the underworld. It is a criticism targeted at all those men, from the Home Minister to Higher ranked cops, who mar the image of one of the most prestigious institutions in India- Police.

Sr. Inspector Vikram Singh (Shatrughan Sinha), Inspector Appa Naik (Suniel Shetty) and Constable Khalid (Paresh Rawal) are taking their job easy. As a fresh recruit they had tried to improve the system. But as they gained in experience they learnt that nothing could change the way police force is working. From head to toe it is corrupt. So now they have started to flow with the tide. But the arrival of the new DCP Hari Om Patnaik (Akshay Kumar) exudes new energy in their heart.

Hari Om Patnaik has been transferred to Mumbai from Pune. An idealist police officer, he decides to change the image of the Mumbai Crime Branch. He makes all the three men, Vikram Singh, Appa Naik and Khalid, work.

They soon get a chance to showcase their newfound energy. Don Yusuf Khan’s (Irrfan Khan) brother (Rahul Dev) kills the businessman Ajit Pradhan (Milind Gunaji). Ajit Pradhan is the rival of another business magnate Gautam Walia (Jackie Shroff).  Gautam is very close to Yusuf Khan.

Police start their investigation on this murder. With Hari leading from the front they come out with some shocking facts. To put an end to this investigation Yusuf Pathan ‘s men shoot the wife and daughter of Appa Naik. But nothing can stop these men of honor.

Other than action heroes the movie also stars Raveena Tandon, Preeti Jhangiani and Lara Dutta. Anu Malik is the Music composer. Lyrics are by Sameer, Dev Kohli and Tejpaul Kaur. Hridaylani writes the dialogues.
 
Madhu Rao is the cinematographer while Abbas Ali Moghul does the action direction. This action thriller is produced by Firoz Nadiawala.
