Audio Review : Sri Anjaneyam

Music: Mani Sharma
Lyrics: Sirivennela
Singers: Shankar Mahadevan, Mallikharjun, Tippu, Shreya Ghosal, SPB

Sri Anjaneyam is an amalgamation of catchy songs and classy lyrics. Nonetheless it’s also an integration of a profound director Krishna Vamsi, the absolutely indisputable Mani Sharma and prolific Sirivennela. And when the best of the Tinsel town get another one roof, only great works breed. In Sri Anjaneyam there is mark of great chorus, grace, enigma and entertaining stuff. Let’s imbibe on the magic to get spelled.

The album opens with Shankar Mahadevan's ‘Ooregi Raavayya’. Great song. The effort towards incorporating more contemporary sounds into his music is really commendable.

But then again there’s ‘Raama Raama Raghuraama’. It has the potential of a pleasant lovable song. Mallikharjun is at his vocal best. The composition is extremely well marked and beautiful. The hallmark of a work of art!

In the midst of all that excellence comes ‘Avvayi Tuvvayi’ in the vocals of Tippu and Shreya Ghosal. The song in no less in any ground but it misses the capability of being spell bounding. It’s a catchy and enjoyable number with apt lyrics by Sirivennela.

Shreya excels with her voice in ‘Poola Ghuma Ghuma’.  The song is a stray from the drastically redundant style of Mani Sharma. It’s infused with lot of energy and forthrightly spills seductive alley. The articulate lyrics also lend the song a charm of its own. It’s a potential chartbuster in all terms.

‘Tikamaka Makatika’ is played around a bit by SPB. The veteran pertinently takes the song and gives life to it. It’s a melodious track with a lot on the creative side. A rich number with flamboyant use of instruments and a soulful rendition. Simply irresistible!

‘Yogamanukonu’ a small piece by SPB is not worth the miss.

The composition and the reputation of Sri Anjaneyam will retain for a long time in the minds of people. It’s a mixture of all the good things with just a little bit of something extra to add some distinction. It’s a triumph in every term!
