Heroes seem to have made up their minds that they sure want to do a negative hero role in their career. Shrikanth is no exception.
Police officer Nasser is living happily with his family in Ooty. Shrikanth arrives looking for a job. He slowly destroys the peace and serenity of the family. The reasons behind his activities are said in a flashback. It's a good story but we don't know what went wrong but Nakulan Ponnuswamy, the director of the film, seems to have run out of ideas.
There is nothing in the film to show the affectionate bond between the members of Nasser's family. The flashback is weak and the kind of anxiety that such films with negative heroes create is also absent in this film.
What could be interesting about a hero who struggles to educate his sister's daughter and get her into the MBBS degree? Had they portrayed Nasser even more evil-ly, there would have been some sympathy for the hero.
Vidhyasagar' songs are okay. Such films need a good background score to shine. But, 'Vanajaalam's background score is not something that they could be proud of.
Heroine Sadha walks in and out and looks good. That's all. In the name of comedy, Karunaas nags. Kutti Radhika and 'Thalaivaasal' Vijay simply exist.
Usually innocent people are killed only during police encounters with anti-social elements. Its illogical to see Sadha get killed in a planned encounter. But, it is nice to see the film deal with a powerful issue of innocent victims of police encounters.
Otherwise, the film has failed to do anything.
Wow...?! Buss...Story
