'Kismat' tells the story of an orphan guy Tony (Bobby Deol) who has been through the worst of his life with the trials and tribulations. He has taken shelter on the streets and the hardship has made him a very strong man indeed. He lands himself to a musical stage show that comes to the town. He comes across Sapna (Priyanka Chopra), the stage singer here and much to his surprise falls in love with her. Sapna belongs to a respectable and rich family and is an upcoming star. She is to be married to her fiancé Arjun a doctor by profession soon. But these facts don’t come on the way of Tony. He feels that he can win over her family with money and thus accepts a dreaded assignment from an underworld gangster who is ready to pay him large sum of money. His task is to get a Government officer sign some important documents. He sets on his task and soon realizes that the officer is none other than Sapna's father, Dr Khurana. He has made him sign the paper, which will now enable the mafias to release drugs in the market that will kill hundreds of innocent lives. He repents what he has done and to amend the mistake he deals with the people who have a hand in this. Where does his fate lead him from here?

After staying off from films in 2003, Bobby Deol once again comes back with this film. Priyanka Chopra gets to essay a solo heroine for the first time in this film.
