Movie Review : Mee Intikoste Em Istaaru Maa Intkoste Em Testaaru (2004)

Producer: Jagini Nagabhushanam
Director: Raja Vannemreddy
Cast: Aditya Om, Sangeetha, Brahmanandam, Sunil, Chalapathi Rao, Padmanabam, Kovaisarala, Radhika Chowdary, Annapurna, Shakeela
Music: Ghantadi Krishna

Here is another movie, courtesy EVV style, i.e., crude comedy. After all the mass action entertainers that the viewers had to bear with the last year, this one comes out with a mass style comedy with absolutely no-nonsense approach towards making of the script. If you are looking for logic, aesthetism and decent dialogues, this movie should be avoided at any cost.

The story is about how two strangers marry in the strangest of circumstances and the life that follows after that. Haarika (Sangeeta) & Madhav (Aditya Om) are the two strangers. Haarika stays in a working women's hostel and Madhav is the only earning member in a family that boasts of six members. After the marriage of Haarikia and Madhav, two sisters of Madhav also tie the nuptial knot. Due to stranger reasons, the first night of Madhav-Haarika is postponed every time. Naturally, the parents of Madhav blame Haarika for every mistake in their household. The rest of the film is all about how their family members recognize and acknowledge the golden heart of Haarika.

Aditya Om who was seen in 'Lahiri Lahirilo' did quite well in his role which didn't have much to do in the department of histrionics. Sangeetha is pretty hot, despite the weight she carries and seems to be a little too heavy for Aditya Om. Comedy department is taken care of well by Brahmanandam and Sunil and as said earlier there is no subtelety and the dialogues are sometimes irritating. There is also Shakeela in this film paired with Padmanabham.

Since this is a remake of the Tamil film 'Middle class Madhavan', this follows the trend of such movies in the past and has three lead pairs in the movie, each one useless to the story in their own way.The director Raja Vannemreddy has resorted to mass style movie with redundant first night scenes between the hero and heroine to please the front benchers. And like so many Telugu directors he also has resorted to show something different in this movie, but could not think beyond parents beating the comedian, as opposed to wife beating him. Poor brahmanandam. Wonder for how many years he can carry on like this.

Go to this movie, if you nothing else to do and waiting for a good chance to get yourself a headache to miss tomorrow's office.
