Tahir Hussain, the man who gave us musically rich movies like ‘Anamika’, and ‘Caravan’ is all set to release his new movie ‘Dil Doondta Hai’. He has roped in Anu Malik for music. Tahir himself writes lyrics.
Interestingly, Nightingale of India, Lata Mangeshkar kick starts this album with a sweet and soft melody ‘Badal Ko Garajne Do’. Veteran singer Udit Narayan gives her company. These experienced vocalists’ bail out the stale old Anu Malik track with their effective rendition.
Title song comes next in list. Alka Yagnik lends her voice to this melodious track. Compared to Alka’s rendition music and lyrics are just about average.
‘Tum To Meri Jaan Ho’ is another solo, but this time Sadhana Sargam replaces Alka. Her voice successfully reflects the pain of a broken heart. She walks through this track with characteristic ease.
In this album one solo number follows another. Vibha Sharma, a new entrant in to the field of playback singing, croons ‘Haye Mohabbat Ki Jaadugari’. There is nothing more to talk about this number.
This Preeti and Pinky rendition ‘Paayal Ne Lehenge Se Kaha’ fails to impress the listeners. Music is ordinary. So is the lyric.
With the arrival of Jaspinder Narula we expect some kind of change in the overall atmosphere of this average album. But unfortunately she comes under the influence of this average number and croons in a disheartened manner.
Things take a positive turn with the arrival of a new singer pair Alka and Shabbir Kumar. ‘Kahan Ja Raha Hai’ is the best of this album. Alka excels in this seductive track. Shabir reminds us of the legendary Mohd. Rafi. Both these singers give their best to this track. As a result it succeeds in keeping its head up amid the strong currents of time.
But this happiness is short lived. ‘Suraj Roz Nikalta Hai’ crooned by the same pair fails to generate any kind of audience interest.
Fortunately for Tahir and Anu Malik their album ends with a nice and memorable track ‘Har Lamha Zindagi Ka’. Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik lend their voice to this number. Both the singers impress us with their effective rendition.
By and large, this time Tahir fails to move the music lovers with his sound track. Even though this album contains some of the fine musical compositions there is not even a single number in the whole album that can be treated as potential hit.
