Raj Goyal (Akshaye Khanna) is an energetic and successful criminal lawyer. He is a crusader of justice, taking the criminal where he should belong and protects the innocent. He is so much involved with his work that he has no time for love. But with the access of Sargam (Urmila Matondkar) in his life, things changes. Sargam is a beautiful, talented and popular singer who has come out with many albums. Raj meets Tarang Bharadwaj (Ajay Devgan ) through Sargam. Tarang is her childhood friend and mentor and also a very talented musician. But he is caught in the pangs of fate, as he has been caught from the scene of brutal murder of music tycoon Ashwin Mehta (Vijendra Ghatge). Ashwin Mehta has been murdered in the wee hours of the morning and has multiple stab wounds, which implies that the murder has taken place for revenge.

Sargam wants Raj to defend Tarang, as she believes that he is innocent. Raj comes close to Tarang during the investigation. Raj can prove Tarang innocent only when he discovers the real killer. But even before he could do it he gets badly trapped in the dangerous game more mysteriously. Every one has a deadly secret leading to the murder.
