Nitin Manmohan movies always entertain the audiences with its novel and exciting story line. ‘Deewangee’ is another such venture. This romantic thriller pins to keep you at the edge of the seat. Directed by Anees Bazmee, ‘Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha’ fame, this movie boasts of an unusual pairing, Akshay Khanna, Urmila Matondkar and Ajay Devgan. Ismail Darbar scores music while Salim Bijnori and Nusrat Badr pen the lyrics.

The album opens up with a romantic track ‘Pyaar Se Pyaara Tum Ho’. Kavita Krishnamurthy and Sonu Nigam lend their voice to this Salim Bijori verse. There is a sad version of this track ‘Pyaar Se Pyaare Tum They’. Sonu Nigam croons this sentimental version. Then comes the instrumental variant of the same track. All the three numbers are enjoyable.

Next track ‘Saat Suron Ka’ is the best of the album. Udit Narayan and Kavita Krishnamurthy come together for this musical treat. It has a nice rhythm and impressive beats. This track with its wonderful lyrics arrests your heart forever. It also has a female solo version. Kavita Krishnamurthy lends her voice to this number. On the whole this ear-friendly track is nice and enjoyable.

After this enchanting musical score comes another entertaining track ‘Yeh Taazgi Yeh Saadgi’. The newfound musical genius Sunidhi Chauhan renders this slow and sensual number. Coupled with excellent music and lyrics, this song is sure to find its takers. This number is again repeated in a duet version. KK and Mahalakshmi croon this one and there is no doubt that this number towers over its original. KK is efficient as always. But it is Mahalakshmi who springs up surprise. She outshines Sunidhi with her effective vocals. Nusrat Badr’s lyrics need a special mention.

Then it is the turn of a dhol track ‘Dholi Dholi’. Babul Supriyo and Kavita Krishnamurthy lend their voice to this peppy dance track. Music and lyrics are of good quality. Overall a nice track to hum around.

Next song ‘Saasein Saasein’ is a romantic duet in the voice of Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik. Salim Bijnori writes the lyrics. It turns out to be a nice and entertaining track in the end.

‘Ai Ajnabi’ is a haunting track rendered by the versatile Sunidhi Chauhan. Her voice gives this track an intriguing feel.

The concluding track ‘Hai Ishq Khata’ brings liveliness back to this album. The song starts with a prolonged instrumental piece and then Jaspinder Narula’s voice comes to the beam. Jaspinder steals the show with her magical vocal. Other than the spirited rendition of her there is nothing in this track. Music and lyrics are average. Anyways this track will find a place among the first ten popular tracks of the week.

To sum up, music of ‘Deewangee’ cannot be characterized as extraordinary. But it is definitely an entertaining album. ‘Saat Suron’ and ‘Hai Ishq Khata’ are the pick of the lot.
