The interesting fact about Nadeem-Shravan’s music is that you can either love or hate them, but you can never ignore them. Whatever be your take on this music director duo, you cannot forget the fact that they have always entertained us with their simple and melodious music. This time these master musicians can be heard in Kundan Shah new movie ‘Dil Hai Tumhara’. Preeti Zinta, Arjun Rampal, Jimmy Shergill and Rekha star in this latest Kundan Shah flick. Sameer pens the lyrics.
This album begins in a positive manner with a peppy engaging track ‘Mohabbat Dil Ka Sukoon’. Nadeem-Shravan’s favourite singers Udit, Kumar Shanu and Alka Yagnik croon this one. Music is very catchy and attractive. Sameer’s lyrics are up to the mark. So is the rendition of the three established singers. On the whole this track offers us a nice foot tapping musical outing.
Next song ‘Dil Laga Liya Maine’ is an ear friendly composition in the voice of Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. The emotive rendition of the singers boosts the enjoyability of this song. The music is typical Nadeem- Shravan. Sameer’s lyrics too tread the same old path.
Nadeem- Shravan adds variety to this album with the next track ‘Sahiba O Sahiba’. Sonu Nigam and Kavita Krishnamurthy lend their voice to this somber musical piece. Lyrics are very touchy and augment the poignancy of the track. Sonu Nigam is excellent in this sad song. In this track he sounds more like Mohd. Rafi. Kavita’s vocals too match up with that of Sonu. But she is not at her best in this song.
‘Chayya Hai Jo Dil’ is a soft and sweet musical composition rendered by Kavita and Shaan. This moderately paced song is a joy to hear. Its uncommon singer pairing brings in novelty and freshness to this track. This one falls easily on our ears with its soft rendition and lighter music arrangements.
Now let us go to the Sarika Kapoor number. ‘Khamoshi Ka Betaabi Ka’ is a wonderful composition. But this one is very short. Then there is another version of this same track with another title ‘Kabhie Hasna Hai Kabhie’. Tauseef Akhthar whom we first heard in ‘Tumse Acha Kaun Hai’ is the singer. He sings with passion and rightly emotes the sad mood of Sameer’s lines. On the whole a nice track to lend our ears to.
Now it is the turn of title track. The famous singer trio, Udit, Kumar Shanu and Alka Yagnik croon this one. The song captures our heart with its simple lyrics and nice musical arrangement. This one may have a sustained life span.
‘Chaha Zuban’ as the title suggests is a romantic track. Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik come together for this number. Both these singers put their heart out for this song and make it a real winner. This moderately paced song has a certain old world charm.
The album concludes with a typical Nadeem –Shravan track ‘Kasam Khake Kaho’. Veteran singers Kumar Shanu and Alka Yagnik croon this one. It sounds like a track straight from the 90’s album. Nothing special about this one.
After listening to the whole album you may feel a kind of familiarity, but you cannot say that you haven’t enjoyed it. This is the specialty of this composer duo. They may weary you with their off repeated tune, but yet you love them for what they offer.
