After making a number of popular comic flicks with Govinda, the master of comedy David Dhawan calls in Bobby Deol and Bipasha Basu for his new movie venture. Even then it turns out to be another typical David Dhawan comic caper. He has roped in Anu Malik for the music whereas Dev Kohli, Farhad, Minoo Singh and Tejpal Kaur write the lyrics.
With Bobby Deol in the lead, a Punjabi track is a must. ‘Chhadh Gayi Chhadh Gayi’ is the mandatory Punjabi number featuring Bobby Deol and Shilpa Shetty. As usual music is upbeat and vibrant. Bobby Deol dances to the tunes of this exuberant bhangra number. The plain and ordinary music lacks enthusiasm. The same holds true for the lyrics written by Tejpal Kaur.
Udit Narayan and Dimple Verma come together for this simple and sweet song ‘Teri Aankhen Badi Badi’. Music sounds familiar and repetitive. Overall this song turns out to be a passable number.
The next song ‘Tum Tata Ho Ya Birla’ is a typical composition that David Dhawan film requires. Vinod Rathod and Anuradha Sriram put all their energy to this number. With its nonsensical lyrics and typical Govinda beats this song may go well with the frontbenchers.
The same trend continues with the next track ‘Chor Machaye Shor’. Sonu Nigam croons this number. Farhad writes. There is nothing great about this number.
Anuradha Sriram and Vinod Rathod returns with a tapori number ‘Kaan Ke Neeche Baja Daaloonga’. This is another frontbencher number. No great shakes about this average track.
The last song of the album makes up for the rest of the songs. ‘Ishqan Ishqan Ho Gayi’ written by Tejpal Kaur rides high on trendy musical arrangement. Lyrics are of no great value. The emotive rendition of Adnan and Sunidhi add oomph to this track.
To sum up, this album lacks in variety and novelty. It doesn’t have any songs that can be termed as a potential hit number. So stay away from this album as far as possible.
