The hangover of a particular genre of filmmaking lasts for a long in the minds of the filmmaker in Bollywood. That is the reason they keep coming with the same topic again and again. The new theme that has caught with them is life after marriage. You’ve seen ‘Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam’, ‘Saathiya’, ‘Khwahish’ and now to the fore is ‘Chalte Chalte’. If the audiences have not got bored and tired watching films on the similar topic again and again they can go for it. Otherwise we pray to the filmmakers to come out with something novel and not to treat us with the same menu again and again.
Turning back to ‘Chalte Chalte’ the film deserves to be laced with expectations in spite of treading the similar territory of marriage and problems after that. It is not one of those unbearable films that make a horrendous look at marital relationships. With Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukherji in the lead, you’re sure in for a real treat of performances. People who are looking for good time pass entertainment can look forward to this film.
There is romance, comedy, a few contrived emotional scenes and melody all over the place to keep you going.
