Chalte Chalte is Dreamz Unlimited new production to be directed Aziz Mirza, one of the associates of the production house. The movie casts Shahrukh Khan and Rani Mukherjee. Any Shahrukh Khan film generally carries good music. Chalte Chalte is not an exception to the lot. Jatin-Lalit, Aadesh Shrivastava have arranged the music and Javed Akhtar, Pappy Dhilon, Babu Mann have penned the lyrics.

The opening track ‘Tauba Tumhare Yeh Ishare’ laces your ears with melody of a different genre. Jatin-Lalit is flawless with the composition and the synthesis of guitar and percussion capsizes you.  Abhijeet and Alka Yagnik couldn’t have been better. Abhijeet steals the show with the velvety touch of his voice. Alka gives her veritable best. Javed Akhtar abounds some perfect word for the benevolent track. This one will definitely fetch your attention at the first go and will make you add to your favorites of romantic songs.

The singer combo, Abhijeet and Alka Yagnik repeats again for the title track ‘Chalte Chalte’. Abhijeet opens the song and his voice again appears to be in harmony. Alka Yagnik follows him and her voice resounds cheerful and chirpy. The composition is soft and melodic taking the surroundings in its zest. Javed Akhtar expressions and Jatin-Lalit creativity again fits in appropriately. Another loveable and likeable track to your credit! There’s also an instrumental, with good orchestra of the same track.

After the spell of Jatin-Lalit, Aadesh Shrivastava takes his turn with ‘Layi Vi Na Gaye’ in the Sukhwinder Singh out there to entice you. The track has a Punjabi base and some raags which Sukhwinder Singh melts in with ease. Pappy Dhilon and Babu Mann has done the Punjabi manifested poignant lyrics and Aadesh Shrivastava has very aptly decorated the track with his composition. Overall it’s a winning track.

The tracks so far were best. The verdict to be given to Sonu Nigam’s ‘Gumshuda’ is that it is well attempted and entertaining.  The singer has crooned the track so well, that it’ll definitely head among his best. Aadesh Shrivastava is consistent with the composition though the lyrics by Javed Akhtar is not gripping enough.

Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik are composers delight, for they never fail to impress. ‘Dagariya Chalo’ again owes its credit to them. They’ve turned the ordinary track hummable with their vocal eminence. As for Javed Akhtar and Jatin-Lalit, there is nothing remarkable on their part. The song though carries the goodwill of the soundtrack rendered s far.

‘Tujhpar Gagan Se’ is a speedy track with Sukhwinder Singh, Preeti and Pinky adding to the froth. Sukhwinder Singh though gets an upper hand with the high-pitched vocals. Javed Akhtar appears ordinary and Aadesh Shrivastava nothing influential.

Adding another spark to the melody is ‘Suno Na Suno Na’ by Aadesh Shrivastava though it appears much of a Jatin-Lalit track. Abhijeet once again charge up the track with the strength of his vocals.  There is romance and melody and words of Javed Akhtar co-ordinates well. Aadesh Shrivastava’s composition is fantastic. The song is among the bests of the album. Hear it once to get hooked to it!

Chalte Chalte is a good work done. The songs are melodic in a milieu of comfort. The compositions are established and with the best singers of the industry, they really turn out well.
