Badhaai Ho Badhaai is a Mukta Arts Ltd. production with Satish Kaushik on the director’s chair, and Anil Kapoor and Shilpa Shetty doing the roles. When the good names are associated with the movie, expectations are bound to be there. Even in the cadre of music if Anu Malik’s name comes forward, we expect something good. Let’s check out what it holds!
‘Badhaai Ho Badhaai’ the title track sung by Udit Narayan is not an appropriate start for the song is slow paced, more of a ghazal genre and the rendition is not remarkable.
‘Teri zindagi mein pyaar hai’ appears in three versions. Though in regard of the song it’s not much understandable what made Anu Malik repeat it thrice. Apart from the interlude at the beginning nothing else clicks. The rendition by KK is ordinary though Alka Yagnik does a fine work. Although the song is good yet it is nothing gripping.
Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik sing the simple ‘Thero Zara’ with ease. The orchestra is to the basic and the symphony strikes. The song is a respite to the previous tracks.
Another track from the closet of Anu Malik to be sung enthusiastically by Sonu Nigam is ‘Dil bataa mere dil bataa’. The song is peppy though the melody fails to trigger.
‘Jogan Jogan’ sung by Preeti-Pinky and new singer Kunal is quite catchy and with nothing much admirable it goes ahead to be mediocre.
‘Raag banke pyaar chhaye’ takes on you as soon as you hear it. It is a soft romantic number by Alka Yagnik and Shaan. The melody gushes and the track sums up as a good one.
A Punjabi styled track is ‘Dil vich vich rukda’ by Sonu Nigam and Anuradha Sriram. The song is quite high-pitched which do bar the softness if the track. It shuffles between good and ok.
To give a verdict for such soundtrack is tough, for they rate average with neither soulful tracks nor poor ones. Some hard work from Anu Malik would have brightened the aspect.
