Anjaam belongs to the genre of revenge style of movie, though the plot is invariably new and the theme is not customary. It stars Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit and Deepak Tijori in the lead role. The film is by Rahul Rawail and Anand-Milind has composed the music. Sameer has penned the lyrics. The songs go along very well and will be remembered down the memory lane. It’ll be marked in red in the hits of the composer, singer and the related ones.
The opener is a good in itself. Alka Yagnik with her honey-touched voice renders the decent number ‘Barsoon Ki Baad’. The composition is seasoned and Sameer’s words graciously decorate it. It’s an ear shot at the first instance.
Follows another solo track ‘Badi Mushkil’ by Abhijeet. The song owes the credit to him. He has styled it well with accordance to Shah Rukh Khan. Hear it once and you’ll fall in love with it!
A sultry track follows with ‘Tu Samna Jab Aatha Hai’. Alka and Udit Narayan go a long way to make it as appealing as they can. And they come out triumphant. The orchestration entwines making it another likeable song.
There are quite a few peppy tracks like ‘Suno Meri Banno’ by Alka Yagnik and ‘Kolhapure Se Aaye’ by Sadhna Sargam. Both of them go along being very average with regular composition.
But what will catch your ears and creep on you is ‘Chane Ke Khet Mein’ by Poornima. The singer has always been good with such numbers and does a superb work here too. The groovy and foot-tapping beats will make you dance to it.
The album comes to a closure with ‘Pratighat Ki Jwala’ in four versions, all of them done by Sapna Awasthi. The track is a situational one and so nothing much can be expected out of it.
The album is worth a buy and its certain that it won’t turn you down. The songs fair well with good composition and good singing. There is something for everybody!
