‘Tere Naam’ is a film that mustn’t be unfamiliar to the movie buffs. The film has been attempted thrice before and has been hit. So it is a Herculean task for director Satish Kaushik to strike the chords right and make another blockbuster out of this film. The film has been in news since its inception and so there are huge expectations underlining it. Well the goods news is that the lives up to the expectations and does justice to the previous films.

Radhe Mohan (Salman Khan) is a brat and a rowdy, who falls in love with a simple daughter of a priest Nirjara (Bhumika Chawla). Her simplicity and innocence captivates Radhe who is otherwise very good at heart. Bhumika is an introvert who mostly stays in her house and the only time she comes out is to go to college. But his ways of expressing his love is different and most of the time Bhumika is scared of him. So she rejects him when he proposes his love to her. He is so much in love with her that he wants to win her at any cost. He kidnaps her and this is when she learns him closely and falls in love with him. While the lovers are on the verge of uniting Salman's old enemies attack him and get him injured. He ends in a mental asylum. What happens next watch in this heart wrenching love saga.

The trump card of ‘Tere Naam’ is that it is very different from other love stories that we’ve come across in the past. It deviates from the formulaic romantic principles of other Bollywood films and the backdrop is diverse from the common arising problems that the lovers encounter. It is a very realistic presentation of two lovers in a convincing story. It is a complex story of two people who don’t fall in love at the beginning of the film and there love progresses through situations. Though the pace fluctuates during the proceedings, the second half of the film just captivates with its brilliant execution. Even the culmination portions are touching. It is one of those films where the ending isn’t a happy one.

Director Satish Kaushik has indeed done a challenging task and has emerged as a winner. He has very deftly executed the film. He has handled well the dramatic sequences as well the climax, which is the best part of the enterprise, extracting the best from the cast.
Himesh Reshammiya's music is lilting and gels well with the theme of the film. S. Sriram’s cinematography is brilliant. Jainendra Jain’s dialogues impresses. Mahendra Verma’s action looks realistic.

Salman Khan is in terrific form in the film. He makes the character alive with his out of the world performance that’ll surely bag him awards and accolades. Both as a tough personality in the initial parts and in the emotional scenes he leaves his mark. Bhoomika Chawla is also impressive in her simple role and gives a prolific performance. Ravi Kissen and Sarfaraz Khan are good. Others are also good.

‘Tere Naam’ is a heart wrenching love saga that most people will be able to relate to due to its universal appeal. Salman Khan makes a comeback of sorts and so undoubtedly his fans will be thronging the theatres to watch him. Following it the business will surely do good on the strength of the film.
