Audio Review : Raaz - Just decent enough

Producer: Mahesh Bhatt
Director: Vikram Bhatt
Cast:  Bipasha Basu, Dino Morea, Vishwajeet Pradhan
Music:  Nadeem-Shravan
Singers: Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Sarika Kapoor, Abhijeet, Bali Brahmabhatt, Jolly Mukherjee, Suzanne

Loosely inspired by ‘What Lies Beneath’ director Vikram Bhatt attempts his next film ‘Raaz’, a supernatural thriller of sorts. The films star real life couple Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea.

The musical reins of the film are in the hands of Nadeem Shravan. They compose eight tracks for the film. But the scores sound so similar to each other that it’s hard to distinguish one from another. Let’s find out all about the music of the album.

‘Jo bhi kasmein’ by Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan is the best song of the album. It’s quite a rhythmic track that hooks you on as soon as you lend to ears to it.

But Alka Yagnik fails to recreate the same magic in the next number ‘Tum agar Samne’. Abhijeet come together with her for this love duet.

‘Aapke pyaar mein’ appears very much like the rehashed version of ‘Zindagi ban gaye’ from ‘Kasoor’.

It’s hard to distinguish between ‘Kitna pyara hai’ and ‘Itna main chahoon’. Keep guessing which is the extension to other.

A fast paced and rhythmic number is ‘Mujhe teri jaisi’ rendered energetically by Udit Narayan and Sarika Kapoor. Have a nice outing hearing to it.

‘Pyaar se pyaar hum’ has Abhijeet behind the mike as he mouths some words of praises. Other than this there is nothing much to write about this track.

‘Yeh shaher’ is the worst track of the album. It just annoys you and with the voices of Jolly Mukherjee, Suzzan and Bali Brahmabhatt it turns out to be the track that you should absolutely avoid. It’s a dull and unimpressive score that ends the album on a dull note.

The soundtrack ends being a decent genre one. With Nadeem Shravan and Sameer at the helm, the album is surely lapped with lots of expectations. However it fails to stand among as one of their best works.
