‘Raja Bhaiyya’ is Govinda’s last attempt at comedy. After the success of his No 1 movies he has been labeled as a comedy man. Lately he is trying to come out of this image by exploring new emotional terrains. Directed by Raman Kumar this movie has music by Nadeem –Shravan. Sameer and producer Mann Singh Deep write lyrics. Let us check out what this movie has in store for us, in terms of music.

Govinda kick starts the album with a funny song ‘Sunday Manao’. He is known for these kinds of songs. Take for example his nonsense numbers from ‘Haseena Man Jayegi (I Love You Bol Dal) and Dulaara (Meri Pant Bhi Sexy). But unfortunately Govinda’s magic does not work for this song. This track sounds more like a shriek. His Bengali twang though interesting does not go down well with the music lovers. On the whole a below average attempt from the writer Mann Singh Deep, Singer Govinda and composer Surinder Sodhi.

But the subsequent track makes up for the latter’s bad show. ‘Tu Jo Hans Hans Ke’ is one of the best tracks in this album. This vibrant, rhythmic track carries the usual Nadeem-Shravan stamp. Udit Narayan and Kavita Krishnamurthy are the singers. They gel together well as a pair. Fortunately this song does not belong to the usual Govinda numbers. On the whole a likeable track.

‘Kehta Hai Mera Jiya’ is another funny track featuring Govinda and Aarti Chabbaria. Udit Narayan and Sunidhi Chauhan add zing to this track with their fervent rendition. There is nothing new about this song. It entertains as long as it is stays.

Next in line is another ordinary track in the voice of Udit Narayan. ‘Madhosh Teri Aankhen’ is a soft romantic track that admires the beauty of the heroine’s eyes. This reminds you of the early Nadeem –Shravan compositions in their prime. This is followed by another romantic track in the same mold ‘Janam Janam Jo Saath’. Udit Narayan team up with Alka yagnik for this number.

Sunidhi Chauhan and Arvinder Singh render the last song of this album ‘Don’t Touch’. Both the singers sing this track in a professional manner. On the whole this item track fails to excite music lovers.

Overall, the music of ‘Raja Bhaiyya’ fails to entertain.
