With its completely unknown cast and crew, this movie ‘Angaar- The Fire’ has less chance of making it big in the competitive world of cinema. In that case, its success solely depends on its musical scores. Let us check out the musical compositions of the newcomers Amar-Akbar and Robin Chatterjee.
Udit Narayan and Sadhana start the proceedings with ‘Bas Ek Do Mulaqaat’. Both these seasoned vocalists effortlessly flow through this sweet and simple romantic number. Lyrics too tread the same path. It makes for repeated listening.
Once again Udit Narayan holds the mike for a funny number ‘Khadi Hai Auto’. Jaspinder Narula gives him company. This song may not cater to the tastes of all class of music lovers. The frontbenchers may have a nice time with this nonsense number.
‘Main Tere Deewana’ lacks in freshness and novelty. Crooned by Udit Narayan and Hema this song just passes muster. Lyrics too tread the tried and tested path.
The deep voiced Jolly Mukherjee comes back to bollywood musical scene with ‘Ek Kudi’. This talented singer effortlessly lifts this Punjabi number to newer heights with his excellent rendition. The heavy voiced Jaspinder Narula gives him company in this musical endeavor. But the oft-repeated music and lyrics hang heavy on this wonderful rendition.
Following this passable number Sadhana comes up with an excellent musical composition. ‘Gore Gore Haathon’ is a perfect blend of music, lyrics and rendition. This is the best song of this album.
Abhijeet and Swati wrap up this album with ‘Apun Tapori Baat Karta’. A typical tapori number, this song may get some whistles and claps from the frontbenchers. Musically it sounds similar to any other Mumbaiyya number. Lyrics too follow the Mumbai dialect. On the whole there is nothing great about this last song.
All in all, this album can be considered as a uptight effort by three newcomers to make their mark on the bollywood music scene. So their music caters mostly to the tastes of masses. For those who love quality music this album is not worth buying.
