Nowadays music directors are getting really lazy. Instead of putting up their own music, they just makeover some of the old well-established songs and present it as their own. Nadeem –Sharavan and Anu Malik are the masters of this musical disguise. Now another member joins their team, Anand Raj Anand. After giving us exceptional music in ‘Kaante’ and ‘Sandhya’ this man has lately started to rehash some of the old musical compositions.
Shankar Mahadevan starts the proceedings with ‘Panga Na Le’. This song cautions other nationals against testing the patience of Indians. Arranged in bhangra style this song has a nice energetic and lively rhythm. This number sounds more like a situational track.
Next song ‘Laila Laila’ sounds similar to an old melody ‘Pyaar Bina Kya Jeena’. Abhijeet and Alka Yagnik lend their voice to this average number. Nevertheless this sweet and soft melody makes for a decent hearing.
Through ‘Jeena Teri Bahon Mein’ Kavita Krishnamurthy explains her feelings towards her sweet heart. Anand Raj Anand has decorated this love track with nice beats. His chorus and orchestra add to the romantic mood of this song. On the whole this is a nice and enjoyable track.
‘Gal Suno Sardarji’ is one of the best tracks in this album. It sounds fresh and original. Anand Raj Anand comes behind the mike for this Punjabi dance number. Kavita Krishnamurthy gives him company in making the audience dance.
A quiet and soft song comes after this loud and noisy Punjabi number. ‘Subah Savere’ is as fresh as the morning breeze. The vocals of Kumar Sanu and Sadhana Sargam exude with love and passion. Surely this one is going to have a nice time in the market.
Vinod Rathod sleepwalks through the next song ‘Aaya Maza Na Yaar’. Music and lyrics sound stale and repetitive. There is nothing special about this track.
‘Masoom Si Ek Ladki’ is inspired by the R.D.Burman composition for ‘1942-A Love Story’. Kumar Sanu croons this rehashed version of ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha’. But the music comes nowhere close to its original.
On the whole ‘Maseeha- The Saviour’ needs Gods grace to save its faulty musical tracks. Except ‘Gal Suno Sardarji’ and ‘Subah Savere’ none of the tracks can be termed as nice musical compositions. Dev Kohli’s lyrics too sound stale and old. On the whole this is a skippable album in any case.
