Coming from the house of Barjatya’s, who has been formerly associated with films like ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’, ‘Hum Saath-Saath Hain’ - ‘Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon’ has been keenly awaited and the expectations from the film is sky high. With the credits of the film on the shoulders of director Sooraj R. Barjatya, Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan you can expect no less. What waits the fate of the film, let’s have a look.
Sanjana (Kareena Kapoor) lives with her parents (Pankaj Kapur, Himani Shivpuri) in Sunder Nagar. Her elder sister Roopa (Tanaz Currim) is married in the U.S. Sanjana’s parents are looking for an ideal match for her. Her sister Roopa comes forward with a boy who would be suitable for her and will also be visiting Sunder Nagar shortly. This will give them the best chance to meet the boy and know his whereabouts.
Prem (Hrithik Roshan) comes to Sunder Nagar and after a small tiff with Sanjana they turn friends. Gradually Sanjana finds herself falling in love with him. Her parents believe that he is the guy who has been sent by Roopa and they too take a liking for him. But soon his boss Prem (Abhishek Bachchan) also visits the place and he falls in love with Sanjana. This is the boy Roopa has sent actually. Whom does Sanjana choose?
The shortcoming of the film is that it offers nothing new and ends up being a general love triangle. But here too you cannot miss the brilliance of Sooraj execution of the subject. It fits the criteria of Rajshri films perfectly, providing wholesome and clean entertainment. With a touch of contemporary feel this will as well suit the young moviegoers. Laced with romance, light moments, emotions and songs this is an ideal package of a good film. The first part of the film is handled with deftness and the second half with the twist in the tale keeps the proceedings interesting. Hats off to the treatment of the film that saves the formulaic script. Good scenes and the climax just entertain you. The film belongs to Sooraj Barjatya all the way.

Anu Malik's music is lilting and fresh and goes well with the script. Choreography by Jay Borade is fitting. Rajan Kinagi's cinematography is first class.
Hrithik Roshan’s performance deserves a special mentioning as he gets into the skin of the character looking like the boy next door. He cake walks through the emotional scenes and is wonderful in most part of the film. He is a revelation in the film. Kareena Kapoor is delighting as well. Essaying one of the best performances of her career she impresses. She acts and emotes differently and this is striking. Abhishek Bachchan doesn’t get much to do but he excels in his part. Pankaj Kapur and Himani Shivpuri are excellent.
For this film the box office should reap glory and should be a winner for the Barjatya's in a big way. The film should go down well with the family audiences and the young brigade for its premise.
