Kamini (Rekha) and Anand (Naseeruddin Shah) are married to each other for seven years. He is an unfaithful husband who wants to get rid of his obese wife. He is a flirt and spendthrift and gets embarrassed by his wife’s behavior and obesity. But he can’t let her go, as she is a rich woman who has inherited vast business empire and a chain of hotels. Anand who eyes the property and wealth is very angry with his father-in-law for bequeathing all assets to Kamini. By chance he comes across Vijay (Mukul Dev) and Anu (Suman Ranganathan) who wants to take the short cut and grow rich in life. Anand falls in love with Anu and begins showering on her expensive gifts with the aid of Kamini's accountant Wakaria (Suresh Chatwal). Vijay and Anu seeing the richness Anand possess gains his confidence and poisons him against Kamini to kill her. What happens next?
