Audio Review : Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai - Outcome is nothing inspiring

Star sons and daughters are making their foray into films from right left and center. And the latest to join the bandwagon is none other than Jeetendra’s son Tusshar Kapoor. ‘Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai’ is a big budget film produced by Vashu Bhagnani and directed by Satish Kaushik. The film is indeed going to be a lavish launch for him opposite the glamorous Kareena Kapoor. Well she is also the daughter of Babita and Randhir Kapoor.

Generally the trend is that a newcomer is introduced in the industry with a good soundtrack and if it happens to be a star kid it has to be nothing less than a stellar. But for ‘Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai’ the music is nothing fresh nor something amazing. Anu Malik composes some general stuff with Sameer's lyrics of the regular kind.

The album opens with the lively and peppy number ‘Maine koyi jadoo’. Its catches your attention instantly. Lapped with funky beats and perky vocals Babul Supriyo, Preeti and Pinky, it’s a foot tapping score that gets hooked on you. Just watch it top the music charts in the days to come.

Babul Supriyo and Alka Yagnik start the duet ‘Jabse Dekha hai’ announcing their love for each other backed by proclaiming their love for each other. This is a run of the mill number and sounds average. There is another version of the song sung solo by Yagnik alone. This song however turns good.

Sonu Nigam goes rocking rendering the energetic number ‘Rabba mera rabba’. This is a pop styled number and he graces it brilliantly. The song is packed with punch, froth and frolic and is racy in nature. Some awesome acoustics infused with good music and great vocals makes it another chartbuster.

K.K who is going through a good phase of his career render the title track. But he fails to register any impact with it. Can’t help much when the composition is bland and ordinary. There is another version of the same number done by Sonu Nigam as ‘Guncha Hai Gul Hai’. Maybe this modified version will make the makers happy!

Anuradha Sriram restores the froth again in the album with ‘Duppata’ oozing lots of oomph while rendering it. Good music and pep makes the track catchy and worthwhile.

‘Pyar re’ with K.K is one track to be picturised on Tusshar alone. How far he is able to make a mark with it remains to be seen.

A big-budgeted film like this deserved a better deal coming from a composer like Anu Malik who has been coveted with the prestigious National award recently. The music is below expectations and though there are two or three scores that have chartbusting quality on the whole the outcome is nothing inspiring.
