The once popular music director duo is frantically trying to find their foothold in this musical market. With that in mind they have shed their old jhankar beats and piano piece from their music. So what you see here is the musically rejuvenated composer pair Nadeem and Shravan.

Nadeem and Shravan unfold their album with a folk number ‘Beech Bajaria’. Folk song specialist Sapna Awasty croons this track in her characteristic full throttled, husky voice. Her loud rendition overpowers the music and it sounds frail and weak. Fortunately this time lyrics by Sameer perfectly complement the mood of the song.

‘Masoom Chehra’ is a beautiful song rendered by Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik. This song comes twice in this album. Nadeem –Shravan provides the song with a unique prelude and unusual music. Sameer’s romantic verses sound familiar. Both the singers do their best to give this song a definite edge over other similar tracks.

Surprisingly the former song shares a common trait with Kumar Shanu, Alka Yagnik rendition ‘Hum Apni Taraf’. The background music is same for both these tracks. The haunting voice of piano gives a befitting introduction to this melodious number. The soft and captivating musical arrangement gives ‘Hum Apni Taraf’ an upper hand over the Sonu, Alka rendition ‘Masoom Chehra’.

Kavita Krishnamurthy lends her voice to this funny stage number ‘Sirf Sunday Ko’. It sounds like a direct lift from any of the Govinda-David Dhawan comic capers. With its catchy and peppy music, this song grows on you. Nadeem–Shravan’s favorite musical instrument dholak plays right through this stage number. It sounds good at first listening, but unfortunately it lacks in staying power.

Udit Narayan is in his elements in this wedding number ‘Dhoom Machade’. Musically it sounds like an old Lakshmikant- Pyarelal composition. But the high- spirited rendition of the vivacious Udit and Dimple add grace and fervor to this typical Nadeem-Shravan composition. Nadeem–Shravan perfectly blends the loud beating drum with its the soft and gentle counterpart shehnai. With this musical symphony this track becomes one of the best wedding songs of the year.

The album concludes with two average numbers ‘Desh Ko Yaaro’ and ‘Mumbai Mein’. These songs have nothing to rave about. Music and lyrics sound stale and old. KK, Shaan, Hozef and Tarif come behind the mike for the second song while veteran vocalist Mohd.Aziz holds the mike for the first one. All these talented singers are wasted in these typical Nadeem-Shravan numbers.

Overall, the music of Nadeem- Shravan has not yet found its original glory. They are still groping in the dark in search of their lost musical creativity. As a result this album turns out to be an average musical affair. There are some tracks that need your attention while others just vanishes from your eyes in a flash of a second. On the whole, you don’t miss anything if you missed this album. But the ardent Nadeem-Shravan fans can go for this one.
