Movie Review : Love At Times Square

Producer: Dev Anand
Director: Dev Anand
Cast: Heenee Kaushik, Shaib Khan, Chaitanya Chaudhary, Sia Rana, Salman Khan
Music: Lucky Ali, Adnan Sami, Rajesh Roshan, Adesh Srivastava

The film is the story of Shoeb Khan, Chaitanya Chaudhry and Heenee Kaushik are Indians with their roots back in India. One of the protagonist works as a computer engineer in California and the other has just come from India to establish himself in the States. Heenee is doing a course in Mass Communication from American University and is the rich daughter of an Indian. Both the guys fall for her, but who wins her at last forms the climax of the film.

The film is waved with a love story and an undertone of gangsters with the September 11 incident. But none of them however makes a powerful impact on the film. The screenplay is so flexible that one story jumps to another without presenting any logic to the viewers leading to confusion.  The pace is very slow in the first half and even the Salman Khan song doesn’t help much in the proceedings. In the second half the film gains pace, but the sub plots look out of place. The climax is another setback. The script swamps the film overall.

Directorially Dev Anand tackles the film very poorly. The film desires a lot in the execution part. The music also hammers the film and even with four talented music directors Lucky Ali, Aadesh Shrivastava, Adnan Sami and Rajesh Roshan there is not one lilting moment.

The focus of attention like always remains to be Dev Anand but he fails to captivate with his performance. Chaitanya Chaudhry is fair but Shoeb Khan is dull. Heenee Kaushik is also a weakling in department of acting. Ashish Vidyarthi irritates. Moon Moon Sen as Heenee's mother and Rishi Kapoor as a TV Channel owner don’t get much to do.

The film is a very poor show and it’ll surely not do a hopeful business.
