Adman Kailash Surendranath turns to wield the baton for his first Hindi film ‘Love You Hamesha’ starring Akshay Khanna, Sonali Bendre and Riya Sen. The musical reins of the film is in the hands of A.R. Rahman. He reuses the music of ‘May Maadham’ for this film. We guess he may be busy in his collaboration with Andrew Lloyd Webber. This is the third instance of Rahman recycling the songs from a movie completely from South India to Hindi films and vice versa - 'Puthiya Mugam' became 'Vishwavidhaata' and 'Doli Sajake Rakhna' became 'Jodi' in Tamil.
The title song of the album 'Love You Hamesha' opens the album. The actual song is Aadi Paru Mangatha' in Tamil. The song begins in the mature voice of G.V. Prakash to be taken over by Shweta Shetty and Sonu Nigam soon after. Accompanied by nice guitar and percussion, you feel invigorated with the score.
Next on the line is a love ballad ‘Gup chup baatein’ from the original 'En mele vizhunda mazhai tuliye'. Sadhana Sargam and Hariharan pair up for the rendition. Anand Bakshi 's lyrics and the beautiful composition of Rahman make it one of the best songs we’ve heard in the recent times.
‘Yaar teri bewafai’ which is 'Minnale' in Tamil bowls you over. Mahalaxmi Iyer is first rate in her performance. Coupled with a beautiful violin piece it is one song that leaves its trail on your mind.
Sonu Nigam justifies the song 'Botal tod de' which is 'Palghat machanukku'. He gets into the drunken mode and does a good work along with Hema Sardesai.
'Madrase sutthi paaka poren' turns to 'Sone ka palang' with Ila Arun, Udit Narayan and Kavita Paudwal doing the rendition. It’s a lively marriage song that sets you in a celebrating mood as soon as you hear it.
Kavita Krishnamurthy does her solo rendition in ‘Ek ladki thi' from the original 'Marghazi poove'. She does the crooning effortlessly.
Rahman’s music is surely an advantage for the film. It’s time to wait and watch how far it manages to go.
