‘Love in Nepal’ reminds you of classic Joy Mukherjee movies which had similar titles (Love in Tokyo, Love in Shimla and Love in Bombay). All these movies had one thing in common except its title, is the music. All of them boasted of nice haunting music. This new version of love starring singer turned actor Sonu Nigam too has some nice melodious tracks in it. Sameer is the lyricist. Music department is taken over by Anu Malik, Nikhil –Vinay and Vishal –Shekhar. First song ‘Bolo Kya Khayal Hai’ is a Vishal –Shekhar composition. Sonu Nigam lends his voice to this lively track. He does both acting and singing well. In the middle of this male solo Sunidhi pitches in with a one liner ‘Mujhko Tumse Pyaar Hai’ in her characteristic child –like voice. This one liner acts as a surprise element in this song. This turns out to be a nice captivating music in the end.
Next in line is Anu Malik. He composes two songs in a row. One a romantic song ‘Mushkil Hai’ and other the title song of the movie ‘Love in Nepal’. Sonu Nigam croons both these tracks. First one ‘Mushkil Hai’ is a yuppie, fast paced track in typical Anu Malik style. This lively, energetic track makes you tap your feet.
Next one ‘Love In Nepal’ is also an enjoyable track. Here Sapna Mukherjee joins Sonu for the rendition. This one boasts of a nice, catchy beat, but chorus sounds irritating. On the whole this is a fizzy kind of song. You tend to forget it in a very short span of time.
Nikhil- Vinay composes last three songs. They start with a romantic track ‘Ek Anjaan Ladki’. Their favorite Sonu Nigam croons this one. Like the songs in their albums together, Jaan and Deewana, this one also takes you to the heights of love. A nice track in the end.
Next comes a sensuous item number ‘Katra Katra’. Item song specialist Sunidhi Chauhan croons this one. She with her effective rendition heats up the atmosphere. Like the other ones this also is an enjoyable track. This will go very well with the frontbenchers.
Nikhil- Vinay concludes this album with a ‘Dum Maro Dum’ styled song ‘Sutta Maar’. It is a nice playful track in the voice of Sonu Nigam and Hema Sardesai. This song is featured in the promotion of the album. On the whole this is a nice, rhythmic and fizzy track. But there are no potential hits in this album. All the songs are just above average and are enjoyable. It is a never miss for the lovers of yuppie tracks.
