Movie Review : Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru (2009)

Producer: Satyam Cinemas
Director: Nandini
Cast: Ajmal, Roopa, Mouli, Darshan
Music: Mani Sharma

A tale of laughter, the story begins on the backdrop of an ad agency and here are two youngsters. Arjun (ajmal) is a happy go lucky guy who believes in living life to his fullest and takes it as it comes. On the other hand, there is Archana (rupa) who believes in perfection and order to the core. Both of them work under Srinivasan (moulee) who runs the ad firm. Now, Srinivasan is one absent minded man and true to his nature, he lands up in a financial mess. Both Arjun and Archana decide to help their boss and for this, they rope in a baby (darshan) for a campaign. However, the twist occurs when they realize that the baby is actually a kidnapped child. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

The director has come up with a whacky concept and both the presentation and narrative have been top notch. The dialogues were the main highlight with spontaneous wit and humor, the script was neat and the screenplay was perfect. Music and background score contributed in a big way and a trendy look was given by the cinematography. Costumes were stylish and the art department was quite creative. Editing was crisp. Ajmal came up with a good performance and he was the best choice for this role, Rupa was ravishing and had that innocent sex appeal in her. The real show stealer was Mouli who walks through this like a cake and hogs the limelight. Darshan was cute and impressive. The others didn't have much to do in this one.

The film runs solely on humor and it is the dialogues that leave the audience in splits. While the first half goes about with the regular elements of arguments and debates along with the problems on a lighter tone, the second half gets interesting with the twists and turns mixed with more humor. The film will appeal to the youth audience in a big way and for those who like some offbeat comedies, this is a good treat. Not much for the mass audience as there is no masala but then even they would relish the comedy in this.
