Audio Review : Kranti - Enjoy the music of Jatin -Lalit

Producer: Vivek Kumar
Director: Naresh Malhotra
Cast: Amisha Patel, Bobby Deol
Music: Jatin Lalit
Singers: Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam, Asha Bhosle, Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan

When you hear the title ‘Kranti’ you expect the movie to be a patriotic flick. But director Naresh Malhotra surprises us with a masala premise. Anyway, his movie has already evoked a kind of curiosity in moviegoers with its catchy one liner ‘No FIR, no arrest, faisla on the spot’. With Jatin- lalit in music composer’s chair let us hope its music too succeed in wooing the audience. Veteran lyricist Anand Bakshi is their companion in this musical endeavor.

Talented singer Amit Kumar makes a come back with ‘Ishq Jadu Ishq Tona’. He towers over this track with his magnificent vocals. Sunidhi Chauhan gives him company. But this veteran vocalist outshines her completely with his enthusiastic rendition. Musically it sounds different from usual Jatin –Lalit track. They need a pat on their back for coming up with such an extraordinary musical composition. They are the masters of melodious music. But here the music is swift and zingy. This number is a fast paced rhythmic track that brims with energy and josh. To sum it up, this track is going to occupy the top slot in chartbuster list.

After their successful innovation Jatin- Lalit goes back to their home turf, melody. ‘Dil Mein Dard Sa’ boasts of good melody and impressive lyrics. The poignant words of Anand Bakshi flow smoothly and softly through the vocals of seasoned vocalists Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. And the listener is taken in to a transcendental musical journey. It takes some time to come out of this musical trance.

And when you hear the line ‘Mere Dil Tu Wapas Mod De’ you expect a ghazal type rendition. But once again you are in for a shock. Shaan and Sunidhi croon this impeccable poetry in a peppy and zappy manner. Both the singers let their hair down and come up with an excellent performance. Slowly and steadily this song grows on you and you start shaking a leg or two.

The same mood is continued in this Sonu Nigam, Kavita Krishnamurthy number ‘Hayo Rabba’. But this song lacks the pep and energy of the former. As a result it does not get registered in your heart.

Now take this romantic number. Here Anand Bakshi compares love with war. In both these fanatical versions of passion the one who strikes first becomes the winner. This is the content of this perky track ‘Jung Ho Ya Pyaar’. Surprisingly Asha Bhonsle sounds like a teenybopper in this number. Other than this it has nothing much to offer.

When a husband gives his job more importance than his wife she is sure to complain. And that is what Alka Yagnik is doing here in ‘O Naukar Sarkari’. She is complaining about her husband’s overzealous passion for the job. Udit Narayn tries to reason it out. This is a hummable track with a certain old world charm. Alka is in her nagging best and Udit sounds cool and composed. Lyrics are nice and simple and it comes easily on our lips.

On the whole this album has some memorable tracks like ‘ Ishq Jadu Ishq Tona’, ‘Dil Mein Dard Sa’ and ‘O Naukar Sarkari’. These three tracks hook you with its sheer poetry and impressive music. Overall this album offers you some nice, enjoyable music. So go for it.
