Director: Prasad Valacherry Cast: Babu Antony, Jagathy, Kalpana, Madhu, Riaz Khan, Seema Music: Sooryanarayan Lyrics: Rajeev Alunkal
A harrowing tale, the story begins with Kalapurakkal Mathai (Madhu) who is a spice seller and he falls in love with Lakshmi Kutty (Seema) who is the heiress of the Perumannoor Kovilakam. Their love is opposed by Lakshmi's father but her uncle stands by her and in the process, there is also a Sanyasin cum martial arts trainer Karimkutty (Jain) who gives his life to protect them. In this process, he gives his son Sivankutty to them and asks them to take care. As time passes, Mathai becomes rich and they have their sons Job (Babu) and Jose (Riaz). Job's wife is Gracy (Lena) and he is against the alliance of Jose and Sreekutty (Lakshmi Sharma). However, there are enemies for Mathai and Lakshmi which results to the death of their trusted manager Pathrose (Chalipala). Then a tale of deceit and revenge follows. All this forms the story.
The director has come up with a rotten storyline and even the narrative and presentation were painful. The script was written shoddily, the screenplay was horrendous. Dialogues were below average. Music and camera did not do much while editing was totally raw. Costumes and locations were somewhat okay.Madhu and Seema have done this before so it was not an issue for them, Bob Antony had a tough time with his role while Riaz Khan was regular. Lakshmi Sharma was average, Chali Pala was normal, Sreelatha was okay. No one knows why Jagathy and Kalpana were around. The others need no mention here.
The film's major drawback was its script and the pathetic screenplay. Moreover, the length of the movie was so high that it went round and round to come to a conclusion which left the audience exasperated. While the first half was with the regular romance and happy situations, the second half was violence, sentiment and other unwanted and painful stuff. The film will sink in the box office within no time and despite the good cast, it has been a wasted effort.
