The multi starrer comedy ‘Golmaal’ turned to be a huge success and following that a sequel to it is being made. Titled ‘Golmaal Returns’ the prospect of the film is also very bright. This film is much bigger than the original produced by Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd. Adding to the glitz and glamour of the film are actresses like Kareena Kapoor, Celina Jaitley, Amrita Arora and Anjana Sukhani. Director Rohit Shetty is leaving no stone unturned to give his best to the film. Pritam who is in the best phase of his career riding on the hits with Sameer taking care of the lyrics, one is almost certain that the film is going to be terrific.
For a riotous film as such, the music also follows the same line. The album opens with a dance number 'Tha Kar Ke' which has trademark Pritam sound but actually comes from newbie composer Ashish Pandit who does look promising with his first outing itself. This is a chartbuster track in the making with Neeraj Shridhar giving the best to it with his rendition. Anvesha, Aakariti, Earl and Indie also get behind the mike. There is a 'remix version' as well which is funkier and foot tapping.
You can get hints of Vishal-Shekhar's title song 'Golmaal' with the next 'Vacancy'. The punch word 'Golmaal' is merged well with Pritam’s tune. The use of English and Hindi lyrics promises to keep the fizz up. Being full-on arrangement the track never goes out of momentum. Neeraj Shridhar is at the helm of affairs again. Benny, Suhail and Suzi Q with their rendition add to the racy track. Sameer, Neeraj Shridhar and Ashish Pandit contribute the lyrics. The 'Kilogram Remix' also entertains.
'Tu Saala' is the next song that would find favour among youngsters as well as the masses. Don’t look for much meaning in the lyrics as it is better to enjoy the beats driven number. Anushka Manchanda who created furor with ‘Golmaal’ in the title tracks comes very different for this. The song has an Indian rhythm while the Western arrangement gives it a different feel.
Monali and Suzy Q get together for a song interestingly titled 'Meow'. As the lyrics suggest this one is a naughty number with a sensual touch to it. The froth and fun of the number ensure that it will find favour among the youth. Sameer takes care of the Hindi words while Neeraj Shridhar, Ashish Pandit and Indie contribute with English lyrics. This is a Pritam kind of track. This catchy number comes in two more versions - 'English version' and a 'remix version'.
As a surprise at the end comes the entire soundtrack by Vishal-Shekhar for ‘Golmaal’.
For Pritam and guest composer Ashish Pandit here is another winner at hand for this action-comedy genre film. The music is nothing path breaking and the arrangements are of the kind that one has been hearing regularly since the past few months.
